On 12 March 2014, His Excellency Enoch Nkuruho, High Commissioner of the Republic of Uganda in Australia presented his credentials to the Governor-General of New Zealand, Lt Gen The Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae to become the High Commissioner of the republic of Uganda in Australia and New Zealand. His Excellency Enoch Nkuruho presented the letter of credence from His Excellency President Yoweri Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda. At the occasion which was attended by dignitaries of New Zealand and other High Commissioners who presented their credentials, the Governor-General pointed out the good relationship between Uganda and New Zealand. “Uganda and New Zealand have a shared Commonwealth heritage which has carried through to our increasing bilateral relationship. We welcome the continuing formal diplomatic relations and appreciate the growing relationship we have developed”, The Governor-General said. A warm welcome was extended to His Excellency Enoch Nkuruho on behalf of her Majesty the Queen of New Zealand, the Government and people of New Zealand.
